Description:
Two ceramic panels made from over 300 individual printed and textured pieces depicting life in and around the school. It takes the form of a breeze blowing through Barntown and is meant to inspire and encourage children to learn.
Concept:
‘The 12 m ceramic artwork in the entrance corridor takes the form of a breeze blowing through Barntown and is meant to inspire and encourage children in their choices about life and learning whether that be through sport, reading, looking at cloud/stars, singing or playing music.
A second artwork is situated on the second floor and shows aspects of Barntown and Wexford with its connections to the sea and land.
A week was spent in the school working through ideas with the pupils and staff before the project commenced so that everyone had a chance to participate in forming ideas for this artwork.
