Description:
Artwork for the new community Hall at Desertcreat Church
Concept:
A ceramic and glass artwork depicting the activities and history of the communities who use the church. A simple weave pattern represents the intertwining of community, a bond of people and place, and that the area was once a linen growing centre.
Images include well known local landmarks – Tullyhogue Fort, Donaghrisk graveyard, the grave of the Bard of Armagh and activities of various groups who use the church (Scouts, knitting and sewing groups, bowls, badminton, music).
